I've been away for several years, but I kept getting news about the forum until I changed my e-mail address. Some of the news that I received from the Administrator was about 3 members leaving the forum ( I think 1 was asked to leave, & the other 2 volunteered). To me that was good and bad news. One of the reasons I left was because there were 2 members that I just didn't get along with. I guess it was because they were younger, and had an attitude. One was downright rude. The 3rd one, certain "Doctor", I was sorry to see go, since I enjoyed trying to stump him with horror and sci-fi movie trivia. He knew just as much about those genres that I did.

Hey LeenZone if you are out there, you'll be pleased to know that I'm the proud owner of the first 3 seasons of Rawhide. When I get a new box set, I'm always disappointed that they have a big picture of Clint Eastwood in the foreground, and a small pic of Eric Fleming in the background. I know he's the only cast member that people know by name, but most of the people who buy it, are people who watched it as kids.

Here's how I'd design the box. A large photo of Gil Favor (Fleming). Behind him, Rowdy, Wishbone (Paul Brineger), Pete Nolan (Sheb Wooley, although he was only 4 seasons or so). Behind them, in a smaller photo, Mushy (James Murdock), Jim Quince (Steve Raines), Joe Scarlet (Rocky Shahan), Hey Soos (Robert Cabal). At least, I think that's the way it should look.

Well, it's time to bed down, so as Mr. Favor would say, "Head 'em up! Move 'em out!"

You da man, Pal. And I am proud of you. And you have the right idea. We're sure CE is always in the foreground as a marketing tool.

But now we don't know when or if Season 4 will be released. Don't know if the problem is with the economy or RH itself, but they were on a roll for a while releasing 1/2 seasons in May and then December. But that stopped this year, waaa. We are not happy.

If you are interested in joining a message board or forum sometime on RH just let me know. I moderate both. I started the forum with the help of Beev.

Again, welcome back.

Welcome back, Paladin! biggrin.gif

To make a long story short, some time ago I unregistered the accounts of several members (now ex-members) at their request, and e-mailed the general membership about this. In all these cases, the members in question suggested and requested unregistration. I've never been a fan of unregistering accounts - it makes the board more unsightly, makes posts less searchable, and destroys copies of any PMs that the unregistered members sent the remaining members.

In the interest of peace on the board, I've asked in the Rules thread that those ex-members should be spoken of on the board (if at all) civilly and respectfully, just as if they were still members. Thanks for not naming names in your post, Paladin. At this point, though, I think it's best to get off the subject of faults that those ex-members (named or unnamed) may have had. Thanks, everybody. --Beev smile.gif

JMG, I think you misread Paladin's statement, "I think 1 was asked to leave," as "I think I was asked to leave." This is the same thing I did at first. laugh.gif Just to clarify, Paladin was never asked to stop posting, and neither he nor anybody else was asked or encouraged to have me actually unregister their account. Paladin's one of the good guys. cool.gif

No. I didn't misread Paladin's statement. I knew where he was going with it. wink.gif

I'm another "old" member that's returned. I was involved in the forum when it was on 5thdimention.com (which was an incredible site with so many resources... it's a pity it doesn't exist anymore). I see a lot of familiar names (Bevis, LeenZone), but I don't see Jackie Rhoades, who was such a big part of the old forum. Unfortunately, I can't recall my old screen name (it may have been Ron Sterling, though there is someone here with that name... but I really can't remember).

I'm going to the conference in Ithaca in October, so I thought I'd better brush up on my TZ news, which is how I arrived at this site.

I look forward to participating in this forum. Congrats to the administrators and members who make this such an informative and useful site.

It's nice to be remembered. As it happens, I'm nearing my 7th anniversary as part of this community that means so much to so many of us. I think I first posted on the 5th D board on September 24, 2002 as "Walter Smith." Leen first posted on October 18 of the same year. We still have members who date back as far as 1998.

Matt Cregg aka "Jackie Rhoades" isn't here under any username, to the best of my knowledge. He ran both the 5th D site and the 5th D message board, but shut down both without explanation in July 2004. He had also shut down the site and board in February of the same year, but re-opened them after removing some copyrighted material from the site to which CBS objected.

Glad you found us again, and looking forward to meeting you at Ithaca (I hope). Hope you enjoy the Cafe. smile.gif

I wish I had found this forum at the time of it's inception. A lot of the early posts were outstanding.

Paladin! So great to see you again! I've been gone myself (long story without significance, so let's skip it) but I'm back now too. Well met (again) friend!

What ACTUALLY happened to Nighthawk...

He wandered into this lab and found a guy in a white jacket lying on the floor. The guy resembled the actor who played 'The Professor' on Gilligan's Island.

'Uh oh,' said Nighthawk, 'I'd better call an ambulance for this guy. He looks in bad shape.'

He sees a phone booth in the middle of the room. Sure is a BIG one. He steps inside and tries to figure out where the phone is.

'Maybe THIS button turns on the phone...'

Glad to see you made it back in one piece, Nighthawk. Were you able to stop Booth, or prevent the sinking of the Titanic, or any of that stuff? cool.gif
