So the one hour premiere aired last night. I didn't watch it, but hubby did. He thought it was pretty good. I saw some of the previews and it had a TZesque look to it, a la "To Serve Man."
I was wondering if anybody saw it and had an opinion. -------------------- Head 'em up, move 'em out! ![]() |

I saw both of the V miniseries and the weekly series that followed, but I'm going to sit this one out. The resemblance to "To Serve Man" was so strong that I can't believe it was a coincidence. All doubt was removed from my mind when the Visitors decided to reassign a Nazi-youth type Earth teen who they felt had betrayed them. The dialogue went something like this:
"We're sending you to someplace where you can serve us best." "Where's that?" "Where else -- on a serving platter!" He was then dragged off and never seen again. -------------------- Thanks to Dr. Moreau for surprising me with this signature. It beats peach brandy!

I seem to recall in the original miniseries there was a character named "Liz" ...who was a LIZard alien.
-------------------- What is this? Some kind of gag?

I was flipping through the channels on Sunday night trying to find it (new series). I must have had a "senior moment", because I didn't see it on the channel guide.
IMHO, it wouldn't take much to improve over "V: The Final Battle". I watched that this weekend and found the last several hours of it to be absolutely terrible. It degraded in to nothing but a series of shootouts, coupled with cheesy sub-plots and hammy acting. In reading some of the production notes for "V:TFB", the problem(s) stemmed from the firing of writer Kenneth Johnson and the closed wallet of NBC. -------------------- From "The Godfather":
Michael Corleone: My father is no different than any powerful man, any man with power, like a president or senator. Kay Adams: Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don't have men killed. Michael: Oh. Who's being naive, Kay? |

I'm pretty sure it was on Tuesday night but I forgot all about it. I'm going to set the DVR this coming Tuesday night to catch the second episode. Unless I forget about it again...it could happen.

Yeah Johnny you'd be hard pressed to find it on Sunday. It was indeed, Tuesday.

I was having one of my Have Gun Will Travel mini marathons. -------------------- ![]() |

Don't forget we watch RHs on Friday nights, for each eps' 50th anniversary. Did you see it supposedly is going to be on The Westerns Channel in January? -------------------- Head 'em up, move 'em out! ![]() |

I don't get the Western Channel. I have Basic Cable plus I get a lot of additional channels with HDTV. If I ran the Western Channel, I would try to show some of the forgotten or not so often shown TV shows like: Colt .45, The Lawman, Maverick, Cheyenne, Tombstone Territory, 26 Men, The Tall Man, The Texan, Trackdown, Buckskin, Wagon Train, The Rebel, Branded, Laramie, Laredo, Frontier Circus, Death Valley Days, Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater, Wyatt Earp, etc. -------------------- ![]() |

I watched episode 2 tonight after DVR-ing it Tuesday night. I think it's going to be an interesting series. Ep. #3 airs next Tuesday night, 7 PM CT, 11/17/2009 and ep. #4 airs 11/24/2009, same Bat time, same Bat channel (ABC). After that the series resumes March 2010.
IMO...if Chad Decard, the PR/reporter, keeps liping off to Anna, he's gonna get vaporized, just like those guys in the red shirts on the original Star Trek TV series. -------------------- ![]() |

I have been watching it, but mostly just to make fun of . . .
I liked this one person's take on it on imdb - saying that apparently this exists "in a world where no one has seen The Twilight Zone." Seriously, everyone was way to accepting way too early in the first episode. And why stretch this out as a miniseries for what Rod Serling could accomplish in 22 and a half minutes? I just hope they keep the same ending as the original miniseries. -------------------- JERRY: You know, this is like that Twilight Zone where the guy wakes up, and he's the same - but everyone else is different!
KRAMER: Which one? JERRY: They were all like that. ![]() |
